Earlier today, Theo went to the vet's office for the first time he has been with us. Veterenarians offices must have some kind of curse on them, because as soon as any animal steps into them, they go bazurk. Theo was no different. Our good natured puppy, went ballistic. Jumping on people, barking sniffing every nook and cranny in the building. We had to wait around a bit to sign some paperwork and then we were directed into a private room to wait for the vet. Lovely, 10 mins in a confined room with a lunatic puppy. By the time the vet came in, our arms were sore and we weren't all that thrilled that we had to go through the same thing AGAIN to keep Theo off the vet! After she inspected Theo and inserted a thermometer into Theo's rectum (which he thought was very intrusive) she assertained he was happy and healthy.
He was updated on his shots and then we had a very long conversation asking questions about what we might need to be doing and what we should be feeding him and the like. Finally, after both parties were exhausted, the vet left and just to make matters even better, Theo decides to relieve himself on the vet's floor. Oh lord. So, after cleaning up his piddle puddle (actually it was more like Lake Michigan) we signed out and left. With some encouraging we managed to get Theo to poop before loading him up in the Subaru and heading home. The minute we get home, the darned dog has a renewed sense of energy and it takes 2 walks and some play time in the backyard to finally get him to fall asleep. What a day!!
